Archetype Reset

16 new archetypes and 2 new Legendaries for 2K27 · OAK is unchanged · Existing players keep their archetype

Every archetype has an offensive hook

One main way to score or create, including the defenders.

Badge caps are set per badge

Each archetype has its own cap for every badge, instead of one cap for a whole badge category. Badges that don't fit the role are capped at 0.

Perimeter defense specialty

Hound, Shadow, Switchblade can take their defense past the normal limit. At Prestige 0 it can reach 99 and HOF badges instead of 90 and Gold, and it doesn't reset when they prestige.

Athleticism no longer carries over

Changing archetype now replaces your old archetype's athleticism boost with the new archetype's boost. You can't keep one archetype's athleticism on another.

Badges don't roll. Each archetype sets a cap per badge, and unlisted badges cap at Silver.

Defensive Specialty

Hound, Shadow, Switchblade can take their defense past the limit their prestige level normally allows. Their perimeter defense and general defense attributes and their Perimeter Defense badges use the caps of the next prestige level up: at Prestige 0 they can reach 99 and HOF instead of 90 and Gold, and at Prestige 1 they can reach 110 and Legend. Those ratings and badges also don't reset when you prestige. Your rolled cap still applies.
